Kayla’s Hands honors Kayla Jean Mueller’s life and her dedication to serving others. As Kayla said in a letter to her father, “I will always seek God. Some people find God in church. Some people find God in nature. Some people find God in love; I find God in suffering. I’ve known for some time what my life’s work is, using my hands as tools to relieve suffering.”
Kayla had a quiet, calming presence. Her kindness, smile, and laugh were contagious. Living her life with courage and grace, she was pure-hearted, genuine, and selfless.
“‘To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.’ Kayla truly lived. “
For Kayla by Eric Mueller
You were my first friend…my best friend…my only sister..my heart aches for you and what you went through…I have a hole in my soul that will never be filled or replaced. I miss you…I love you…I cannot believe you are gone from my life. I can feel your soul watching over me…I love you so…I know you are only gone from this living world and not from our souls or lives..may God keep you safe from any more harm…any more hurt..you are in His hands now..you do not have to suffer any more..only now will you be able to see how much you really truly did for this world by looking down on it..I love you..you can rest in peace knowing that you changed this world. I miss you so much…I’m lost without your smile. We will make it through this knowing you are still here in spirit. I still feel your touch…your hugs. I know you are protecting us. God works in mysterious ways..ways we don’t agree with or understand..sometimes he takes his angels home early..I will never stop loving you. I love you Kayla.
